This is a
special edition of the electronic update of BairnsTrust activities.
You are cordially invited to attend the combined monthly BairnsTrust meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday 19/06/06, KO 7.00pm.
Please note the earlier start. With World Cup fixtures finishing at 7pm and starting again at 8pm, it is the intention to have a shorter than normal meeting. Feel free to convene before or after the meeting in the Amarillo Bar Bistro to watch the games where there are numerous promotions on.
There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either firstname.lastname@example.org or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night.
If you are unable to attend, the minutes from the meeting will appear on our website 7-10 days later for your perusal.
In the past month we have again been in communication this time with Dunfermline FC re the differing turnstile prices for our fans at the last visit to East End Park on Saturday 01/04/06. Dunfermline had responded and the letter was read out at last month' meeting ... to much derision, hence the further letter! Again we await the latest response.
Enhancing our strong links with the Dee4 Life Trust, BairnsTrust members may be interested in bidding for some of their fantastic auction items to help them raise funds. They have been offered help from a company who are to be the Dundee club's shirt sponsors next season. They sell excellent quality authenticated merchandise, specialising in football, and are offering a discount on online sales during the period of their campaign.
They are hoping that fellow Trusts can assist by facilitating advertising throughout the period of the campaign (until 31st July). In return they can offer a larger 20% discount on anything you may be interested in. Contact BairnsTrust who could then purchase through Dee4Life for you.
Please view the categories sections on the home page link at www.signatures4u.com.
The final Trust Social Night to round off the season took place on Friday 26/05/06 at the Castings Club and featured Face II Face and local debutante Sheryl Wilson. A small profit towards our funds was made on the night.
The latest Amarillo Bistro Bar/Brockville Lounge Cabaret Night was on Friday 09/06/06, with the return of Adam Quest. This followed the first 4 events that BairnsTrust had benefited from financially and will do so again at the Christmas event.
In the meantime there are monthly nights for your consideration.
Please see the revamped events section of the Amarillo website for the rest of the year's confirmed itinerary:
We are again financing the Tom Jamieson Memorial Trophy 5-a-side Tournament involving pupils from Carrongrange School. Tom Elliott of Falkirk's Football in the Community Department has still to inform us of a suitable date at the stadium before we proceed. The event was well appreciated in its inaugural year
The deadline for our Sharesavers re the maturity of the 61p/share offer has now lapsed. The claims have been with the Club for some time, but believe all certificates will be issued following the June FFC Board Meeting and will be forwarded to members late June/early July via BairnsTrust.
Those that requested refunds of contributions will now be settled having received the May bank statement confirming cessation of standing orders. We will also now be contacting those subscribing at the new 125p/share price.
If any member can advise on the whereabouts of BairnsTrust Member Duncan McPherson, formerly of Newpark Road, St Ninians, Stirling this would be appreciated. He has seemingly moved and not informed the Trust of his new address. We require to contact him urgently. We also need to contact Rod Moore of Rosebank Avenue, Falkirk.
Four of your BairnsTrust Committee attended the 4th Annual Supporters Direct Scottish Conference on Sunday 28/05/06 at the Craiglockhart Campus of Napier University in Edinburgh. The event started with an informative talk from William Gaillard, Director of Communications and Public Affairs at UEFA before breaking into a variety of workshops ranging from Football Finance, Boardroom Representation, Community and Supporter led ownership of football clubs through to AGM's and elections.
A synopsis of each will be delivered by the attendees at our monthly BairnsTrust meeting on Monday 19/06/06.
During the day, networking with other Trusts was encouraged and it was interesting to note how strong a position BairnsTrust actually is compared with the equivalent at other clubs.
Our colleagues in BairnsAID have rescheduled the U2 Tribute night for Sunday 25/06/06 in the Park Hotel, Falkirk. Visit their website www.nu2.info/home.htm
for up to date information. Original tickets are still valid for this new date.
Please see members of BairnsAID or you can still purchase tickets at £15 (inc. buffet) from the Steeple Box Office for the rearranged date.
Finally, if you have any topics or articles you wish to be included in future BairnsTrust Electronic Newsletters, please respond by your preferred contact method below.
Look forward to seeing you at the monthly meeting where there will be a chance to win a prize for attendees!
