This is a
special edition of the electronic update of BairnsTrust activities.
As you quoted an email address on your application, this is the latest, electronic, update of BairnsTrust activities.
You are cordially invited to attend the combined monthly BairnsTrust meeting in
the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday 17/07/06, KO 7.30pm.
Feel free to convene before or after the meeting in the Amarillo Bar Bistro.
There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either firstname.lastname@example.org or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night. If you are unable to attend, the minutes from the meeting will appear on our website 7-10 days later for your perusal.
This newsletter is being sent out earlier this month as many supporters and
Trust members maybe in Holland from 10/07/06-17/07/06 for the pre-season tour,
returning on the night of the Trust meeting. Hopefully a good time will be had by all, enjoying the many Dutch delights ... and the football!
The Trust's Application Form for the coming season has now been compiled, printed and is with the Club for posting out along with the season ticket books. Details of the new, eagerly awaited, BairnsTrust 2006-07 Polo/T-shirt are included and the Committee would be delighted if you would renew your membership for the coming season.
We have also been busy preparing a letter for sending to potential Corporate Members of the Trust with the main benefit of achieving "2006-07 SPL Advertising for £100 with BairnsTrust!" Each Committee Member has been tasked with targeting 4 or 5 companies each, hoping they will join us. If you know of any business that would also be interested, please respond by your preferred contact method below.
The workload involved above has prompted BairnsTrust to co-opt another Secretary
who will temporarily help with the numerous letters we fire out to other clubs with our members concerns as well as compiling the detailed minutes of our monthly meetings.
There is still a further vacancy available on the Committee for anybody who also wishes to be co-opted on. If you have any skills that would be beneficial to the running of the Trust, please respond by your preferred contact method below. We are currently looking for someone with IT background who could look after ourwebsite.
Enhancing our strong links with the Dee4 Life Trust, BairnsTrust members may be interested in bidding for some of their fantastic auction items to help them raise funds. They have been offered help from a company who are to be the Dundee club's shirt sponsors next season. They sell excellent quality authenticated merchandise, specialising in football, and are offering a discount on online sales during the period of their campaign. They are hoping that fellow Trusts can assist by facilitating advertising throughout the period of the campaign (until 31st July). In return they can offer a larger 20% discount on anything you may be interested in. Contact BairnsTrust who could then purchase through
Dee4Life for you. Please view the categories sections on the home page link at www.signatures4u.com.
The latest Amarillo Bistro Bar/Brockville Lounge Cabaret Night was the second Ultimate Girls' Night Out on Friday 23/06/06.
Face II Face are the next to appear at the Amarillo TONIGHT, Friday 07/07/06 at 8pm. This is only £5 and meals can be bought at additional expense. View the posting on the OneF messageboard for more ...
Please also see the revamped events section of the Amarillo website for the rest of the year's confirmed itinerary:
The Trust has recently been contacted by "the-wheel.net" a new, locally based, one stop site, which lists all websites from Falkirk clubs and organisations as well as sites whichgive information about the Falkirk area; local history, what's on, the weather etc. They have included a link to our own website for no charge. See what else is on offer at:
We are again financing the Tom Jamieson Memorial Trophy 5-a-side Tournament involving pupils from Carrongrange School. Tom Elliott of Falkirk's Football in the Community Department has still to inform us of a suitable date at the stadium before we proceed. The event was well appreciated in its inaugural year of 2005.
The deadline for our Sharesavers re the maturity of the 61p/share offer has now lapsed. The claims have been with the Club for some time, but believe all certificates will be issued following the June FFC Board Meeting and will be forwarded to members late June/early July via BairnsTrust. Those that requested refunds of contributions will, by the time you read this, be settled. If you now longer wish to contribute to the scheme it is your responsibility to stop your standing order with your financial institution. The Trust's
Treasurer has also now contacted those subscribing at the new 125p/share price who have reached the minimum monetary requirement. If any member can advise on the whereabouts of BairnsTrust Member Duncan McPherson, formerly of Newpark Road, St Ninians, Stirling this would be appreciated. He has seemingly moved and not informed the Trust of his new address. We require to contact him urgently. Also require to contact Rod Moore of, Falkirk and John McCreadie formerly, Brightons but may now reside in Stenhousemuir.
You may recall in BairnsTrust Electronic Newsletter #11 that all football Trusts in the UK were contacted by a student from the University of Edinburgh at the end of last year. BairnsTrust completed the questionnaire included. At the time we had received a draft, electronic dissertation on ... "An Exception to the Norm? The Distinguishing Features of the UK Football Industry". However it was still subject to marking and could not be circulated to a wider audience. It has now been completed and the student graduated with a 2.1 Honours degree. Permission has now been granted to distribute it electronically to our members and/or post it on our Trust website. This is a fascinating 70-page read! He also wishes Falkirk FC all the best for the forthcoming season having attended the Livingston game at the end of the season and thoroughly enjoyed the game (or more accurately the 2nd half!)
