BairnsTrust were saddened to hear of the passing of former Zeneca FSA Bus Convenor and long time Falkirk fan; Campbell Laing. Condolences to all the family from BairnsTrust. The funeral was well attended and the Trust were represented in good numbers.
The Falkirk Herald kindly promoted the latest Show Racism the Red Card initiative from BairnsTrust/Falkirk FC on Wed 06/02/08 as Falkirk star Russell Latapy visited Kinnaird Primary. Already up and running in local secondary schools, the scheme – backed in addition by Falkirk Council's Education Department and the Central Scotland Racial Equality Council, will roll-out workshops to primary pupils in the area. They are designed to provide children with a historical background on racism and promote equality of opportunity and good relations between people of different racial groups, while working towards the elimination of discrimination. Following the early announcement by Falkirk FC of the pre-season tour back to Holland for the third consecutive year from Wednesday 09/07/08 until Tuesday 15/07/08, we are now seeking numbers for the “BairnsTrust Go Dutch” tour package.
The Trust have established that the Club are happy for us to offer a Dutch tour package with the disclaimer FFC accept no liability. It should be noted that BairnsTrust are not an official travel agent.
No fixtures have been arranged yet and could be as late as one month before the trip and even then are subject to change as the Dutch agent works on the fine details.
Early suggestions that Dwingeloo could be the base for the BairnsTrust party as well as the club is not recommended. Groningen/Heerenveen are possible alternatives with the later a good chance of hosting one of the games.
A minimum number of intendees are required to be able to make this a success.
Flights, hotels, buses to and from games and package prices are still to be sourced and confirmed.
Deposits and balance can be made via the BairnsTrust bank account as well as by cheque.
The Trust has set a deadline for numbers by the Members March Monthly Meeting on Monday 17/03/08.
To register your interest for the trip please Download and complete the form with the appropriate details. Forms also available at the matchday stall or request further details by e-mail
If you have any problem opening the word document/form download this form from HERE
Find out more details on the package at the monthly BairnsTrust meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday 18/02/08, KO 7.30pm.

This new style of reporting on the Trust's finances was passed at our last AGM, similar to that adopted by a number of other Trusts and has been ratified by the Financial Services Authority. The position of Independent Examiner can be carried out by anyone with a financial background, not necessarily qualified and will simply be reviewing the set of financial statements already produced by the Trust Treasurer for the financial year ended 30/09/07.
The Falkirk FC AGM took place on Thursday 07/02/08 at the Stadium. The Trust knew in advance that Resolution Number 2 would be contentious and so it proved to be with profound and well presented debates put forward for and against by both the Trust and the Major Shareholders Group respectively. A summary of the night will appear as an agenda point at the monthly BairnsTrust meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday 18/02/08, KO 7.30pm.

Some recent topics can be found in the Minutes section of the website. Also included, amongst others, Aberdeen Cup-Tie Ticketing, Bus parking at Away grounds, Turnstiles at Hibernian and Pre-match Match Commander Meetings. Why not visit the matchday stall for our “Discount Sale” where all programmes, including this season, are now only £1 each and you can still uplift your free BairnsTrust A4, colour, 2008 calendar. Just bring along your membership card
Also for our under 16 members you can collect a free "bargain bundle" of old matchday programmes. Again just bring along your membership card.
We have recently doubled our stock of programmes and now cover each season back to the early nineties. Get your "wants" list prepared and see if we can assist. To allow more time to peruse our collection, the stall on the concourse is now open at half-time. Visit our online shop that has the NEW stock list of all our programmes for browsing
The programmes for sale at the stall are received by generous donations from numerous persons and are not from hospitality as has been suggested. The Trust gratefully acknowledge donations from the private collections of J Gardiner, P Mosson, C Christie, M Ritchie, D Paterson, A Totten, P Kidney and periodically from matchday staff, BairnsTrust Members and Committee. Such gestures are much appreciated and provide the Trust with a valuable income stream.
Falkirk FC has allowed BairnsTrust to become an Official Matchday Programme vendor using our stall on the concourse in the Main Stand at home games as the point of sale. We will cater for those who wish to buy INSIDE the Stadium pre-match and in return the Trust will receive the standard “seller’s fee” in return. This is proving a great success so far. We urge Members to purchase their copy from the stall to allow the Club to monitor how successful and necessary this point of sale is.
Again taking advance orders for the forthcoming International Friendly between Scotland and Croatia at Hampden Park on Wednesday 26/03/08. Please respond by your preferred contact method below.
Finally, if you have any topics or articles you wish to be included in future BairnsTrust Electronic Newsletters, please respond by your preferred contact method below.
Do you have a view on the dwindling number of Falkirk Supporters buses now going to matches? Increased running costs and a lack of numbers has seen some stop with others now merging to ensure this valuable service remains. Should the club be assisting?
