BairnsTrust Monthly Newsletter... For Falkirk Bairns Everywhere!

If you are reading our newsletter for the first time ... welcome to BairnsTrust as a new member. If you wish to review some of our previous newsletters they can be visited at the following section of the website HERE.

You are cordially invited to attend the Monthly Meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday 15th September 2008, KO 7.30pm.  There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either bairnstrust@hotmail.co.uk or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night.  If you are unable to attend, the Minutes from the meeting will appear on our website later for your perusal HERE.

Football Quiz Night - Monday 29th September
Monday 29th September is now the confirmed date of the annual BairnsTrust Quiz Night.  This will be held in the Castings Social Club, Etna Road, Falkirk.  The price is £10 per team of 4 players to enter.  Please use your prefered contact method to enter your team.  There will also be a raffle and auction on the night.  Any donations of raffle prizes or auction items would be greatly appreciated.  These can be handed into the monthly meeting, the matchday stall or be brought along on the night.

Another date for your diary is Friday 24th October when the popular entertainer Adam Quest visits Falkirk.  This will be held in the Castings Social Club.  Tickets are priced at £8 per person which includes a buffet and are available via any BairnsTrust contact methods or directly from the Castings Club.  Again, donations of raffle prizes would be greatly appreciated.

Bus Conveners Meeting
Our two board representatives hosted a meeting of supporters club bus conveners on Monday 18th August at 6.30pm prior to the full Trust monthly meeting.  Two reps from each bus were invited to attend, to discuss any issues they have and want to raise with the club.  A large proportion of supporters groups were represented, making it a very constructive meeting with several issues being raised.  These included treatment of Falkirk fans by Celtic stewards at the recent game at Parkhead and the issue of buses being allowed to park closer to away grounds where this is possible.  All points raised in this meeting were taken to board level and the club were very co-operative with the ideas brought forward.

BairnsTrust Shop Coming Soon...
The new BairnsTrust stall is taking shape on the main stand concourse and should be ready for the next home game against Hearts.  BairnsTrust will be selling Falkirk FC merchandise from the concourse stall on a matchday, with a percentage going to BairnsTrust funds.  Why not take a look at the revamped BairnsTrust stall at the next home game.

You can also still browse the existing BairnsTrust merchandise online HERE

Clydesdale Bank Score Selector
For season 2008/09, BairnsTrust has chosen to participate in the Clydesdale Bank Score Selector.  This involves predicting the results of all SPL games throughout the season and prizes are up for grabs each week such as footballs and jackets with an overall grand prize of £10,000!

BairnsTrust has set up its own mini league so you can test yourself against fellow Bairns fans.  Please visit our messageboard to participate.  This is by invitation only and is free to enter.  If you are interested in taking part, please e-mail bairnstrust@hotmail.co.uk

Other News
BairnsTrust is currently the principle programme seller inside the stadium on a matchday, available from the Trust stall on the concourse.  50/50 half time draw tickets are now also available from the BairnsTrust stall.  This will bring more fans to the Trust stall and will hopefully lead to increased revenue from Trust merchandise.  Scotland v N Ireland programmes are now all reserved and may be available for collection v Hearts.  Getting Darren Barr to sign is proving difficult as he promptly jetted off to Macedonia and Iceland!

Representatives of the BairnsTrust board attended the Supporters Direct regional meeting on Sunday 7th September at Easter Road Stadium, Edinburgh from 1.00pm – 4.00pm.  A report on how this went will be given at the monthly meeting on Monday night.

This weekend sees the two Falkirk FC Supporters teams battling it out in their first competitive fixture between the sides. FCBraes04 v  Bairnfica in a group game of the Inter Divisional Cup.  The game will take place at Laurie Park, Quarry Brae, Brightons, with a 2pm kick-off.  Admission free. Matchday programmes will also be available.  Both teams will be looking for a victory to keep alive their dreams of making it to the knockout stages.  FCBraes04 warm up for this game by appearing the day before in a 10-second challenge at half-time v Hearts at the Falkirk Stadium against Real Maroon (Hearts IFA).

Finally, if you have any topics or articles you wish to be included in future BairnsTrust Electronic Newsletters, please respond by your preferred contact method below.

Look forward to seeing you at the next monthly meeting where there will be a chance to win a prize for attendees!
