If you are reading our newsletter for the first time ... welcome to BairnsTrust as a new member. If you wish to review some of our previous newsletters they can be visited at the following section of the website HERE.
You are cordially invited to attend the Monthly Meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday 20th October 2008, KO 7.30pm.  There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either BairnsTrust or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night.  If you are unable to attend, the Minutes from the meeting will appear on our website later for your perusal HERE.

Show Racism The Red Card

Show Racism the Red Card’s 5th annual Fortnight of Action takes place from October 16 - 30, 2008. This period of concerted action encourages participation from all sections of Scotland’s communities to celebrate diversity and tackle racism.  This year’s SRTRC Fortnight of Action provides a timely focal point for all those who are committed to challenging racism and discrimination in Scotland.

As usual, BairnsTrust are heading the campaign at the Falkirk Stadium and at the behest of the SPL this year all clubs will undertake action on same weekend. Falkirk's game against Dundee Utd ( 01/11/08) has been picked as the focus of this action.  In partnership with our friends at Central Scotland Racial Equality Council, volunteers will be on hand to help out on the day.  More are needed though, so if you are interested in helping out and can spare an hour before kick off on that Saturday, please e-mail BairnsTrust or make yourself known at the BairnsTrust main stand concourse stall from 2pm.  Any help you can give would be greatly appreciated.

BairnsTrust Quiz Night 2008
Another successful BairnsTrust football quiz night was held on 29th September at the Castings Social Club with 14 teams participating.  A mixed bag of teams took part on the night including Falkirk FC staff, Falkirk supporters team Bairnfica, Rangers Supporters and the Shire Trust.  The eventual winners, for the second year in a row, were Stella's Allstars who scooped the £100 prize money and trophy.  A great night was had by all and was drawn to a close with an auction of football memorabilia.

Another quiz night is being organised by BairnsTrust at the Castings Club on Monday 3rd November at 7.30pm in aid of Children In Need and will comprise of general knowledge questions.  It will be the same format as the football quiz which is £10 per team of four players to win a prize of £100.  Tickets can be purchased from the BairnsTrust matchday stall, BairnsTrust Online Shop, or by e-mailing BairnsTrust or alternatively from the Castings Club.

TOA taxis fundraising race night for Strathcarron Hospice takes place in Grangemouth Tavern on Saturday 1st November 2008, starting at 7.30pm. BairnsTrust will be sponsoring a race.
