If you are reading our newsletter for the first time ... welcome to BairnsTrust as a new member. If you wish to review some of our previous newsletters they can be visited at the following section of the website HERE.

You are cordially invited to attend the Monthly Meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on Monday 16th November 2009, KO 7.30pm.  There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either BairnsTrust or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night.  If you are unable to attend, the Minutes from the meeting will appear on our website later for your perusal HERE.

General Knowledge Quiz Night
Following on from the successful Football Quiz held last month, BairnsTrust are now hosting a General Knowledge quiz.  This will take place in the Castings Social Club, Etna Road, Falkirk on Monday night, 23rd November 2009, 7pm for 7.30pm start.  The evening will follow the usual format and will cost £10 per team to enter, up to a maximum of four players per team.  The prize of £100 will go to the winners.

Fancy your chances?  Then enter by mailing us on or visiting the Events page.

Membership Drive
Membership numbers are still steadily increasing but there is still time to join the Falkirk family.  Every supporter who attended the St Mirren game last month received a leaflet detailing the aims of the trust as well as an application form.  A big thank you must go to Falkirk Solutions, who provided volunteers to cover all areas of the stadium.  It is hoped that this will help to advertise BairnsTrust and encourage brand new members.  Everyone has a part to play, whether you get your friends to join, volunteer to help on one of the matchday stalls or attend a BairnsTrust event... BairnsTrust needs you, and you can use BairnsTrust, for more details.
Membership for this season is still only £5 for adults and free for under 16's.  Joining is easy, simply log on to our website HERE for more details or pay a visit to one of the BairnsTrust stalls on the concourse of the main stand any matchday.

Supporters Direct - Talking Tactics
Members of the BairnsTrust committee will be taking part in the latest training days provided by Supporters Direct.  This will take place in Glasgow over two Thursday evenings - 12th and 19th November.  This is an introductory event for people who are considering joining the board, have recently joined the board or who would appreciate a refresher on their roles and responsibilities and who can take the information back to their colleagues on the trust board. The day includes information on Supporters Direct, values, accountability and management issues of supporters trusts, how to plan and organise the trust as well as important information on the law affecting supporters' trusts, companies, shareholdings and how it all fits together.

Ask the Manager
The latest ask the manager event was held on Wednesday 11th November 2009, in the Amarillo Bar at the stadium.  It was well attended with all fans given the opportunity to ask questions to manager Eddie May, his backroom staff including Steven Pressley and Alex Smith, as well as Club Chairman Martin Ritchie.
The evening started with an exclusive for all when our latest signing 'Pele' signed his contract until the end of the season.  This was then followed by a brief presentation by Ross Wilson, Head of Football Development, who ran through his role and the new structure of the Club.  Club Chairman Martin Ritchie then said a few words on the current situation from the view of the Board.  A good question and answer session was then held, covering all topics from academy to first team to finances.
BairnsTrust would like to say a big thank you to the Board and management of Falkirk FC for participating in this event.  It is encouraging to have a management team who are willing to have regular communication with fans.

Junior Bairns Race Night
The Junior Bairns are hosting a Race Night on Friday 20th November 2009, in the Castings Social Club.  Its 7pm for a 7.30pm start and there will be the race's themselves plus a buffet and disco.  Tickets are £3 per person and its £2 per horse if you want to sponsor one.
BairnsTrust members are encouraged to support this event as all proceeds will be going to fund the Junior Bairns.  These are the supporters of the future of our Club so please go along if you can.
