BairnsTrust Monthly Newsletter... For Falkirk Bairns Everywhere!
If you are reading our newsletter for the first time ... welcome to BairnsTrust as a new member. If you wish to review some of our previous newsletters they can be visited at the following section of the website HERE
You are cordially invited to attend the Monthly Meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on March 2010, KO 7.30pm.  There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either BairnsTrust or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night.  If you are unable to attend, the Minutes from the meeting will appear on our website later for your perusal HERE.

Steven Pressley
A hastily arranged meeting was held at the Stadium on Friday (12th) night with new manager Steven Pressley following the departure of Eddie May.  Representation from most key supporters groups were in attendance to hear Steven's vision for the future and to grill the new boss on how he intends to keep Falkirk up.  Steven and his assistant Alex Smith both indicated that they were looking for a more aggressive team who will fight for their place in the SPL and that although they have the utmost respect for Eddie May and are saddened at his departure, they have a few new ideas on tactics which are different to before.

A massive thank you to Steven and Alex for attending this meeting.  A larger fans forum will be held in the near future to give every fan a chance to quiz the new management team.  Watch this space for details.

BairnsTrust AGM 2010

As you may have noticed in the previous newsletter, a rough timeline for the AGM was given.  Due to a few minor technical problems, this has had to be altered slightly but it is intended that the AGM will still take place on Monday 15th March 2010 at 7.30pm.  Nomination forms and AGM documentation should be sent out within the next week.  Members will be kept up-to-date via e-mail and the local press nearer the time.  New faces are always welcome on the BairnsTrust committee, so if you can volunteer one or two days per month, get your nomination in!

Supporters Direct Secretary Training

On Sunday 31st January, new BairnsTrust secretary Robert Stirling and alternative FFC Board Representative Tom Paterson both attended a Supporters Direct training day specifically covering the roles and responsibilities of a Trust secretary.  This was held at Stenhousemuir's Ochilview Stadium and attended by a number of Trust's from teams including Dundee, Inverness CT, Rangers, Partick Thistle and Hibs.  This was a very informative and worthwhile day and the skills learned will be put to good use at BairnsTrust to ensure we are carrying out our business in the correct manner.

Volunteers Required

BairnsTrust are always on the look-out for keen supporters who are willing to lend a hand.  This could be selling merchandise on the Trust stall an hour before a home match, attending and participating in the monthly meetings on the third Monday of every month or helping to organise a fundraising event.  It doesn't have to be much but any help will be appreciated.  If you are interested, please e-mail with your availability or present yourself to the Trust stall on a matchday.

The stall will be open as usual for the next home league game of the season on Saturday 20th February against Aberdeen. There will be official Falkirk FC merchandise on sale, back stock of old programmes which you may have missed, unique BairnsTrust merchandise not available anywhere else plus the usual team will be on hand to take your queries or questions.

You can also still browse the existing BairnsTrust merchandise online HERE.
