BairnsTrust AGM 2010
The BairnsTrust AGM 2010 successfully took place on Monday 19th April 2010, 7.30pm in the warm-up area at the Falkirk Stadium. A healthy turnout attended to help complete the agenda required. As a result, the new committee for the coming year was formed. At the post-AGM Committee meeting, the new roles were decided and your serving committee for 2010/11 is as follows:
Steven Jackson - Chairman
Tom Paterson - Vice Chairman & FFC Board Representative
Robert Stirling - Secretary
Peter Jack - Treasurer
Sandy Monfries - Alternate FFC Board Rep. & Membership Secretary
Brian Guthrie - Social Convener
The Committee would like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation of the hard work that Brian Guthrie has given to BairnsTrust in his role on the FFC Board over the past two years, many times going above and beyond the call of duty
Also thanks for efforts over past year to co-opted Committee member David Robertson who stood down just short of the AGM.
Congratulations to Sandy Monfries on becoming the new Alternate Fans Representative on the Falkirk FC board and good luck to Tom Paterson as he steps up into the full director position. They will have a demanding time ahead as the Club tries to pick itself up from the unfortunate situation of relegation.
Supporters Direct Conference 2010
The Supporters Direct annual conference will be held at Stirling University on Saturday 29th May 2010. BairnsTrust will this year be sending a delegation made up of committee members, members, and this year are also joined by a PHd research student for Stirling University. BairnsTrust are actively helping the student with his research and will continue to provide him with any information he may require. Delegates will be attending the four sessions on Supporters Direct, Community Involvement, Football Reform and Building Membership. A report from the day will be included in next month's newsletter.
Goodie Bag Give-away
The final home game of the season brought the perfect opportunity to give away a large quantity of excess stock which will clear storage space for new stock next season. This took the form of giving away goodie bags to children containing old programme stock/videos, CDSs etc. All areas of the Stadium were covered and the feedback from the children was extremely positive.
This could not have happened without the excellent support from our international supporters who have dedicated their time to help BairnsTrust over the season. Thank you to Daniel, Daniella, Claire and Jean-Christophe for your help and best of luck for the future.
BairnsTrust are always on the look-out for keen supporters who are willing to lend a hand. This could be selling merchandise on the Trust stall an hour before a home match, attending and participating in the monthly meetings on the third Monday of every month or helping to organise a fundraising event. It doesn't have to be much but any help will be appreciated. If you are interested, please e-mail email@example.com with your availability or present yourself to the Trust stall on a matchday.
Open all year

Martin Ritchie Meetings
With the Club now planning for the First division, it is important that the financial stability of the Club is secure but also that we go straight back up to the SPL at the first time of asking. Last Monday, the BairnsTrust committee held a short meeting with Club Chairman Martin Ritchie to discuss future plans and how best the Club and supporters can move on and achieve its objectives. This was a brief but successful evening and was followed by a more open meeting for key supporters groups on the evening of Wednesday 12th May. The majority of supporters groups were represented and gave their views to Mr Ritchie, Managing Director George Craig and FFC Director Lex Miller. All parties agreed that a united front was key and everyone needed to pull together at this important time.
Many thanks to everyone who turned out for these meetings and it is encouraging to have a Board who are willing to listen to fans opinions.
Falkirk FC have recently announced they have reduced the season ticket and gate prices for next season. The new family section prices in the main stand are particularly good value. Full details can be found on the official FFC website
