BairnsTrust Monthly Newsletter... For Falkirk Bairns Everywhere!
If you are reading our newsletter for the first time ... welcome to BairnsTrust as a new member. If you wish to review some of our previous newsletters they can be visited at the following section of the website HERE
You are cordially invited to attend the Monthly Meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on 15th November 2010, KO 7.30pm.  There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either BairnsTrust or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night.  If you are unable to attend, the Minutes from the meeting will appear on our website later for your perusal HERE.

BairnsTrust Sponsors Academy
Falkirk Football Club have secured a ground breaking long-term sponsorship deal to bring the supporters closer to the club.  The top rated Academy will now be sponsored by the Club’s own fans with BairnsTrust supporters group taking the lead in co-ordinating fundraising activity.  The arrangement is the first of its kind in British football as the supporters show their faith in the future of Falkirk FC.  Head of Commercial Affairs Gary Dowson welcomed the deal, saying “Everyone at Falkirk FC is delighted to have secured a sponsorship of this kind with our supporters. This partnership underlines the value of supporters by sponsoring their very own Academy.  Their ‘fan-tastic’ backing will provide the Club’s Academy with the much needed financial support to maintain the youth structure of the club for years to come.”
BairnsTrust Chairman Tom Paterson added, “We are pleased to provide financial support to the Academy as this is an investment for the future.  With one of the best, if not the best, set-ups in Scotland, it is vital that this is sustained and that we can continue to produce the stars of tomorrow.”
There will be a number of fundraising activities organised in the coming months, undertaken specifically for the benefit of the academy.  The first of these is the production of the 2011 calendar.  More details are provided below.
At the recent under 19's cup match versus Dunfermline, BairnsTrust opened our stall to enable fans to make donations to the Academy.  This was very well received and a good amount was raised.  Donations can be made in person at the Trust stalls on a matchday or online at  Alternatively, you can make an instant donation by clicking HERE.
2011 Calendar
BairnsTrust are pleased to announce that we will be selling the 2011 Falkirk FC Calendar.  Priced at £6.99, these will be available from the 20th November and will be on sale in the Club shop, the BairnsTrust stalls and family marquee, and at all FFC retail partner shops.  It is hoped that space within the Howgate shopping centre can be secured to maximise sales.  There will also be a players signing evening held at the stadium, date to be confirmed.  All profit from this calendar will go directly to the Academy as part of our sponsorship agreement.  A must-have item for any Falkirk fan and all for a worthy cause - grab yours quickly before they sell out!

Fans have the opportunity to buy their own little piece of Falkirk FC.  ShareSave has been running for seven years and allows fans to save money in monthly instalments in order to buy shares in Falkirk FC.  Members can elect to make regular monthly payments to the Trust.  In return, at the end of the agreed period of time you receive shares in Falkirk FC IN YOUR OWN NAME, subject to your contributions over the term amassing the minimum requirement of shares.  At this moment in time, shares are currently set at £1.33p each but as with all such investments the value of shares can go up or down and this is not within the Trust’s control.  It is our intention to make the process as simple as possible with you choosing the amount to pay each month (£12) and for what period.  Sign up on our website - or e-mail for more details.

At the recent Falkirk vs Dundee match on Saturday 30th October there were a number of fundraising initiatives offered to aid Dundee while they struggle to survive.  A cheque for £1,600 was handed over to the Dundee Supporters Trust from BairnsTrust, a picture of the handover was included on the back page of last week's Falkirk Herald.  Dee4life expressed their thanks to BairnsTrust and Falkirk FC for all the ways they offered to help the fundraising efforts. Dee4life received a donation of £2 for every Dundee supporter who paid in to the game, 25p for every match programme sold in the away end and £2.40 from every Dundee fan who bought a pay-per-view ticket to watch the game on Falkirk TV.
Family Marquee Success Continues
The family marquee is proving to be a popular addition to the family matchday experience.  Situated outside the main stand, it is now open from 10am on match days providing a family-friendly place to get together with a multitude of games, entertainment, football coaching and refreshments on offer.  BairnsTrust are now running the 'tuck shop' inside the marquee which supplies food and juice at reasonable prices.
