BairnsTrust Monthly Newsletter... For Falkirk Bairns Everywhere!
If you are reading our newsletter for the first time ... welcome to BairnsTrust as a new member. If you wish to review some of our previous newsletters they can be visited at the following section of the website HERE
You are cordially invited to attend the Monthly Meeting in the Warm Up Area of the Falkirk Community Stadium on 17th January 2011, KO 7.30pm.  There will be a full agenda for discussion, but if you have any concerns you wish to raise, please respond to either BairnsTrust or post your query on the message board at our website and we will try to cover on the night.  If you are unable to attend, the Minutes from the meeting will appear on our website later for your perusal HERE.

January Fans Q&A Nights
Supporters are invited to The Falkirk Stadium in January for two special fan nights in association with BairnsTrust.  This is an opportunity for Falkirk fans to come along and hear about the plans for the rest of the season and the future and to speak to the management team at Falkirk FC.  These events will take place in the Amarillo Bar at The Falkirk Stadium and proceedings will start at 7pm.  Entrance is free.

Thursday 13th January 2011
Speakers: FFC Chairman Martin Ritchie and Managing Director George Craig

Martin and George will present on the recent announcement by the SPL regarding league reconstruction and the publication of the second part of the Henry McLeish report into Scottish Football.  This will be an opportunity for us to look in detail at the proposals and how they might affect Falkirk and Scottish Football as a whole.  The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session. This event will also provide the opportunity to discuss any other topics, which might include the recent match postponements due to the weather and how this is affecting the club on and off the pitch.
BairnsTrust have also invited Supporters Direct representative James Proctor to attend.

Thursday 20th January 2011
Speakers: Head of The Community Foundation Tom Elliot and Head of Commercial Affairs Gary Dowson

Tom will speak to fans and let them know of the progress they have made in developing Falkirk FC’s Community Football Programmes here over the last 8 years.  It’s also a chance to ask supporters if there is anything they would like the club to organise to get the supporters more involved and active in the community club programme.  Following Gary’s appointment earlier in the season, fans will gain the opportunity to meet him and hear what has been put in place since his arrival and his plans for the future.  The presentation will be followed by a Q&A session.

A healthy turnout to both these nights would be appreciated.  This is your chance to give your thoughts and opinions directly to the management team at Falkirk FC.  AN OPPORTUNITY NOT TO BE MISSED!!  If you are unable to attend but would like to ask a question, please e-mail your question to along with your full name.

Donate to the Falkirk Academy
There has been a good response to the request for donations to the Falkirk Academy as part of the sponsorship agreement.  A healthy figure has been raised so far but the campaign is ongoing, therefore if you have a little extra money saved after the bargains of the January sales, why not donate now!  Any donation is greatly appreciated and will go to good use in protecting the future players of Falkirk FC.

Donations can be made in person at the Trust stalls on a matchday or online at  Alternatively, you can make an instant donation by clicking HERE.
2011 Calendar
The official Falkirk FC calendar for 2011 produced by BairnsTrust is still on sale throughout the Falkirk area.  Priced at £6.99, all profit goes to the Falkirk Academy.  Production costs have been met by sponsors, therefore, every sale goes towards the Academy. If you have yet to buy yours, please do so as soon as possible whilst stocks last.  This is a very worthy cause that is strongly supported by BairnsTrust.

The calendar is available online at:

It is also stocked at the Falkirk FC stadium shop; Wishing Well newsagents, Newmarket Street; Camelon newsagents (next to the Copper Top); Grangemouth Post Office; Cow Wynd Post Office; Sandy Monfries General store, Brightons & Barbers Pole, Bo’Ness; as well as on a match day from the Family Marquee and all BairnsTrust stalls.

Former Chairman Resigns
At the last monthly meeting in November it was noted that S. Jackson had tendered his resignation from the trust committee with immediate effect.  Steven has been a great servant for the trust over the years, as Chairman and FFC Board Rep, and the committee would like to thank him for his input, guidance and enthusiasm, and everyone wishes him well for the future.  In response, G. Burns was co-opted onto the committee.

Family Marquee Success Continues
The family marquee is proving to be a popular addition to the family matchday experience.  Situated outside the main stand, it is now open from 10am on match days providing a family-friendly place to get together with a multitude of games, entertainment, football coaching and refreshments on offer.  BairnsTrust are now running the 'tuck shop' inside the marquee which supplies food and juice at reasonable prices.  This is not just for family season ticket holders - all fans, young and old, are invited to come in on a match day.
Volunteers are always needed to continue to make this a success.  If you would like to help please get in touch or simply show up on the day and introduce yourself!
A selection of merchandise is available in the marquee and at the match day stalls as usual.  You can also still browse the existing BairnsTrust merchandise online HERE
