April Meeting - Future Planning
As well as the standard business items, this month's meeting will focus on planning for next year, in particular - prioritising objectives for the coming month's, discussing new ideas and planning for how we will meet these objectives. BairnsTrust are an open, transparent, democratic organisation; ran by, and for the benefit of, Falkirk FC supporters. If you care about Falkirk FC then come along to a meeting or get in touch via e-mail and HAVE YOUR SAY!! Many volunteers will be required to carry out tasks into the new season and anyone who has some spare time, however little, please come forward.
Fans Meeting - Mon 11th April 2011
An extremely well attended fans meeting was held at the Falkirk Stadium on Monday 11th April 2011. Originally planned to be hosted in the warm-up area, the meeting had to be hastily re-arranged to outside in the stand due to the staggering turnout of over 400 people. Falkirk FC Chairman Martin Ritchie set out the current financial situation of the Club and encouraged fans to buy season tickets early to ease cash flow through the summer months. It also gave Mr Ritchie the chance to hear the views of the fans. This meeting took place at the request of BairnsTrust and highlights the importance of having fans representation on the FFC board; to ensure the fans know what is going on at the Club, and we would like to thank the Chairman for attending.
BairnsTrust AGM – Monday 21st March 2011
Thank you to all members who attended the AGM on Monday 21st March 2011, 7.30pm at The Falkirk Stadium. Special thanks once again to Tadek Kopszywa from our neighbours at ShireTrust who acted as election scrutineer.
From the nominations received, BairnsTrust are pleased to announce that David McIntosh will become the new alternate board representative for next season.
The BairnsTrust committee will be made up of the following:
W. Anderson, G. Burns, M. Dickins, J. Gardiner, B. Guthrie, S. Jackson, M. McIntyre, D. McIntosh, S. Monfries, C. Paterson, T. Paterson, I. Sneddon & R. Stirling.
Of course there are still vacancies for anyone who can bring relevant skills. Please bear in mind that you do not have to be on the committee to help out, come along to the next meeting and get involved!
Irn Bru Tops!
League sponsors Irn Bru have launched a campaign to see which team can collect the most Irn Bru bottle tops before May 7th. You may have seen the orange buckets outside the stadium at the last home game, so now is the time to start collecting! The team with the most will win £10,000 towards youth football. Please get everyone you know involved and help Falkirk win.
Falkirk are currently 4th in the table behind Greenock Morton, Stenhousemuir and Livingston. For more details on the campaign visit the Barr's website
Family Marquee Success Continues
The family marquee is proving to be a popular addition to the family matchday experience. Situated outside the main stand, it is now open from 10am on match days providing a family-friendly place to get together with a multitude of games, entertainment, football coaching and refreshments on offer. BairnsTrust are now running the 'tuck shop' inside the marquee which supplies food and juice at reasonable prices. This is not just for family season ticket holders - all fans, young and old, are invited to come in on a match day.
The marquee will be open at an evening fixture for the first time ever at Tuesday night's game (19th April 2011) against Partick Thistle.
Volunteers are always needed to continue to make this a success. If you would like to help please get in touch or simply show up on the day and introduce yourself!
A selection of merchandise is available in the marquee and at the match day stalls as usual. You can also still browse the existing BairnsTrust merchandise online HERE.
Following feedback at a previous meeting, it was decided that the DRAFT minutes would be attached to the newsletter for perusal by members before being ratified at the next meeting. This will allow members exclusive access to this document before being published on the website. If you have any comments about this new procedure, please contact us
